WhatsApp updates
By Tim Ross
You will have noticed some recent changes with the MMBCC WhatsApp. WhatsApp is a primary channel of communication for the Club.
What’s Changed?
We have setup a WhatsApp ‘Community’ entitled “MMBCC – Bike Club”.
This encompasses a number of “Groups” – both interest specific (Road, MTB, Gravel, Junior Dirt Critters) and some special groups (Committee, Road Commissaires, etc).
Other groups will be added as needed – we expect that a ‘Social’ group will soon be added.
Why Change?
Bringing all groups together under the one Community lets the club ‘talk’ to all members/ supporters with a single post.
Having all groups under the one Community allows all members/ supporters to see what groups are available and to join groups of interest on a self-service basis.
What can I do?
Hopefully everyone has been migrated across and has become part of the new Community.
Check you’re a member of all groups that interest you, and ‘join’ any new ones (a small number of groups have limited membership and require admin permission to join)
Feel free to ‘add’ new members to any of the groups (limited to locals or others with a genuine connection to this community).
At the moment there are around 90 in the MMBCC WhatsApp – it would be great for the club to have contact with many more of the local riding community
Questions?
Current admins are Mel, Tim and Bruce – feel free to contact them with any questions or suggestions.
Loan bikes
By Bruce Halket
A reminder that the club is having an ‘audit’ of our loan bikes. If you’ve got one, can you please let Bruce know with a quick email?
We don’t necessarily need all the bikes back, we’ve just lost track of who has what.
Club kit
By Bruce Halket
The new club kit has been dispatched from Ventou in Brooklyn, so should in Mansfield on Monday or Tuesday. Keep an eye on WhatsApp.
Finally …
By Bruce Halket
Last call for anyone interested in the Dirty Docker Festival and it’s COBAWesome gravel event next weekend of 10-11 October. There are discounted entries offered for a few MMBCC members. Email Bruce for more details.
