Rail Trail Construction Update
Works have commenced in Murrindindi and Mitchell Shires with bridge preparation and refurbishment happening on several bridges. As you drive along the Maroondah Highway between Cathkin and Molesworth you will be able to see the trail formation which has now been cleared of vegetation that has obscured it for many years. (You can also see this on the other side of Yea too. - Ed.)
Several new toilet facilities will be placed along the trail; these are currently in production along with several rest stop shelters.
Wrights Earthmoving has been awarded the major contract for civil, pavement and culverts works. Construction of pavement will commence early March.

Last week of discounted SHCCC entries
Sunday 7 March is the last day I can accept the discounted MMBCC entries to the SHCCC. After that, life just gets a bit too busy for me. If you reserve your kit from Shannon from the order the club has just placed with Ventou, or you already have a full set, you can enter the SHCCC for $75 (yes, you'll get the SHCCC jersey!)
You need to email me to get the discount and if you want more info on the rides, visit www.shccc.com.au
That's all for now … see you out there.
Cheers,
Bruce Halket
